In this section, you can configure the menu items required for the POS.
Go to POS -> CONFIGURATIONS and click Menu Items or Click here to enter the page.
Click ADD MENUITEM or Click here to add the item to the system.
Create menu item
Consider, "ABC Juice" is a menu item under "Beverage" menu.
Link recipe to menu item
Linking the menu item to an recipe is very important to get the food cost, gross margin, wastage or stock taking cost, etc. If recipe is added for this menu item, search from the dropdown. If corresponding recipe is not added, you should add a new recipe and then link the menu item to the recipe.
As shown in above example, "ABC Juice" item is linked with "ABC Juice" recipe.
Click Update to save the sales record for the menu item.
You can classify the menu items based on your menu. Multiple users use the system and not everyone will be interested in seeing all categories. This helps in filtering and listing based on applied tags.
This button will not be present if menu item based classification is not added in "Settings->Categorization and Tags". Instead you will see the "Add Categorization" button. Categorization is optional, but highly recommended as it will help you filter the menu items based on tags.
In this case, a categorization called " Menu" is applied to this Menu item module. Multiple categorizations can be applied to every module.
Click CLASSIFY button or click here

Select an item on the left hand side
Select a tag belonging to the category from right side
If you applied multiple categories to this module, use the dropdown to select other categories and apply respective tags.
Now you see "ABC Juice" item is tagged under "Beverage"
The item and tag that are selected/tagged are highlighted in blue color as shown below
Note: You should not apply multiple tags per category to the same item on the left side. Any given item should have only one tag per category.
As shown below, we can select multiple items and tag them using shift/ctrl/cmd keys
Untagged items are listed using Show untagged checkbox
Linkage of menu items to recipes is very important to get the proper food costing, margins, etc.,

Click on Edit Icon to edit or link the menu item.
As shown in above example, menu item "Mango Banana Smoothie" is linked to a recipe "Mango Banana Smoothie"
Click Update to save the changes.

Using search tab you get the latest sold details of a item. It also shows when this item was added to your menu.
As shown in above example, "ABC Juice" was last sold on September 15 with selling price 150 and it was added to the menu on June 7.
Filters button is used to filter the listed sales based on applicable categories. Categorization and tagging of sales should be done to use this functionality.
Select the date range and categories from the dropdown and click Apply button to see the sales that fall under the selected options.
Click Display unclassified checkbox and click Apply button to check the non-categorized sales.
Click Clear button to clear the selected options.
You can select multiple sales to make necessary changes/corrections.
Click Name label's checkbox to select all the sales present in that page. And you have option to make the necessary changes on category.
To select the sales present across all pages click Select all items as shown below
1. Update Category
Click Update Category to make necessary changes to the categorization of sales.
Select Menu category from dropdown and click Update to change/replace the existing category.
Replace existing categorization: This is selected to replace the existing tags with the selected tags. For e.g. if you have a sales item tagged "Beverage" but would like to replace it with "Cakes", use this selection.
